Mission: M01 - The Hooke
Location: ch'Vyrhor's Quarters, USS Galaxy
Timeline: Present

Shral ch'Vyrhor continued to make sure all of his belongings, he didn't have a lot of things, were packed into the crates that were to be transferred to the new ship. It was somewhat strange leaving the ship where the first part of his career had taken place. Though, he hadn't had the most stellar career, it was still somewhat surreal for the young Andorian.

He was putting together the last of his belongings when he heard the chime at his door, "You may enter." Shral said without turning and looking at the door. He didn't know who was there. When he heard the door open then close Shral turned to see Lieutenant Commander Matthew Smith standing there.

"Sir," Shral said to the Human officer, "I wasn't expecting to see you." The Galaxy was preparing to go into drydock to undergo some refits. This meant that much of the crew from the ship was about to be transferred off and Shral wasn't the only one leaving.

"I just wanted to see how you were getting along Lieutenant," Commander Smith answered. He looked at the second solid pip on the Andorian's collar. "How does it feel to be a full Lieutenant?"

Shral shrugged, "I don't know." He was being honest. Shral didn't know how it made him feel. "I'm not sure how I feel about leaving the Galaxy either if I were being honest." Shral's expression shifted slightly into a bit of a grin, "Thank you for believing in me though."

Commander Smith had been the ship's Chief Tactical and Security Officer for quite some time. Like Shral, he had recently been promoted in rank and would be transferring to another command soon. "You have a lot of potential Lieutenant, I hope you see that now."

Shral didn't know if he simply lacked the drive needed to be successful or if it was that he simply didn't believe in himself. Regardless, Commander Smith had clearly believed in him. "Sometimes I just feel like I'm going with the motions." He said, "I know you're not the ship's counselor or anything like that. I'm just trying to find the right words for it you know?"

Smith nodded, "I know what you mean. But, you've earned this chance just like you've earned that rank," He pointed at the pips on Shral's collar. "I don't know how much you'll be able to stand out on that ship over there, however, I'm sure you'll do just fine. The Intrepid-class starships aren't exactly known for combat operations."

Shral shrugged, "My primary focus will be protecting the Captain," He answered. "And protecting the ship too of course, but definitely to the Captain."

"Have you met the Captain?" Smith asked him.

Shral shook his head, "I haven't met the Captain of the Hooke, not yet." Shral hadn't spent time really studying up on his new Commanding Officer either if he were being honest with anyone, especially himself.

"He's pretty young and green," Commander Smith answered, "That's not necessarily a bad thing though so don't let that bother you. I'm just warning you that young Captain's tend to need some time and space to figure themselves out. You may need to be patient with him."

Shral appreciated the advice, "So like me?"

Smith laughed a little bit, "Yes, like you." He appreciated the honesty that his protege offered him. "You'll do great things over there, I wouldn't concentrate too much on it if I were you."

"I won't," Shral answered. The last of his things had been packed up, and he noticed that some people from operations had started removing his belongings. "So where are you off to now that the ship is going into drydock for a little while?"

"I was assigned to Deep Space Four," Commander Smith answered. "I get two days on Earth before I have to make my way there. I guess it's a good thing I don't have a family to worry about." He remarked. "Then it's a long way to the new station. However, I'm pretty excited for going to a space station instead of another ship."

Shral had the same chance, going to a station instead of a ship. He enjoyed being out in space too much to go anywhere else though. "One of the places I could have picked was Starbase Six-two-one." He added, "I'm glad I chose another ship though."

He was getting anxious thinking about it, "I've never been on a space station before. I think it might get boring, even one that's on the frontier." He shrugged, "Maybe I'm wrong."

"Space stations aren't that bad," Commander Smith told the Andorian. "It's nice to go back and forth between ships and stations. I understand why you would want to pick another ship though. Some officers stay on ships until Starfleet tells them they need a break. Just try not to be one of those people."

Shral grinned, "I'll try sir." He answered as he picked up his bag and slipped the strap over his shoulder. "I suppose I should go get onto the shuttle and head over to the Hooke."

"Yeah," Commander Smith answered and offered Shral his hand.

Shral took it and shook it before releasing. "Let me know as soon as you get to the station," He told the Commander, "That way I know you made it safely and all that."

"I will," Smith replied.

Shral watched as the Commander left and held his breath. After a few seconds he released and went through the door before turning and taking one last look at his quarters. Going from a larger ship to a smaller one, was something he hadn't anticipated. He was certainly not the only one facing this problem though. Some of his things were to be transferred to Andoria in order to be put away in storage.

He turned and made his way through the corridor toward the shuttlebay. Many of the personnel he walked past were people that Shral knew, but never really spoke to. Many of them had been transferred, in reality only a handful of engineers hadn't been reassigned. Shral entered the shuttlebay and boarded the shuttle. Shral was ready for this new adventure no matter what it brought him.
